Jürgen Fedderwitz

Jürgen Fedderwitz (born July 25, 1950 in Bremen ) is a German dentist and was chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists from 2005 to 2013 . Fedderwitz was then deputy chairman of the board until the end of April 2017. As the central association of the seventeen statutory dentists' associations in sixteen federal states, the KZBV represents the interests of around 61,000 contract dentists, one of the largest specialist groups in terms of numbers. The institution is an organ of self-administration in the legal form of a corporation under public law .

Life

After studying dentistry from 1969 to 1974 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , followed by assistantship and doctorate , Fedderwitz founded his own practice in Wiesbaden in 1980 .

In 1992 Jürgen Fedderwitz was elected chairman of the Hesse Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZVH), which he chaired for twelve years until 2004. In 1994 he was appointed to the board of the KZBV, from 2003 to 2005 Fedderwitz was acting honorary chairman of the KZBV.

When the legislature introduced the full-time position of the boards of directors of statutory health and statutory health insurance associations in 2005, Jürgen Fedderwitz was elected to the office of CEO of the KZBV. In 2013, after nine years in office, he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

From 2005 to the end of April 2017, Fedderwitz was a member of the Federal Joint Committee , the highest decision-making body for joint self-administration in the statutory health insurance system. He has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Healthcare since 2013 . In 2015, Fedderwitz was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Quality Assurance and Transparency in Health Care (IQTIG) .

Jürgen Fedderwitz is a member of the Academy Practice and Science (APW), the German Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine , the German Society for Periodontology (DG PARO), the New Periodontology Working Group , the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Free Association of German Dentists .

The rules of procedure of the KZBV distribute the departments among the three members of the board. Fedderwitz was responsible for the areas of press / public relations, Federal Joint Committee / IQWiG, research and quality promotion.

Characteristic for his tenure as chairman of the board of the KZBV was the evaluation standard of dental services , which reorganized the currently valid catalog of the statutory health insurance (GKV) with regard to the time required and the evaluation of dental services, as well as the introduction of the fixed subsidy system. This introduced the standard supply as a subsidy basis for the statutory health insurance and replaced the percentage subsidy system that had previously been in force for decades.
