Jürgen Werner Gansel (born July 6, 1974 in Opladen , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German politician of the NPD , for which he was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 2004 to 2014 .

Education

Gansel studied Middle and Modern History as well as Political Science in Gießen and Marburg and graduated with an MA in 1999. In his master’s thesis entitled Anti-capitalism in the “Conservative Revolution” in Germany from 1918–1932 , Gansel sees the Conservative Revolution and Carl Schmitt positively. According to Kurt Sontheimer , the representatives of this political movement are considered to be the intellectual trailblazers of National Socialism.

Jürgen Gansel is the " old man " of the Dresdensia-Rugia fraternity in Gießen . He had previously been expelled from the Normannia Leipzig zu Marburg fraternity after someone shot a person with Gansel's air rifle.

In 1995, a declaration by Jürgen Gansel on behalf of the Dresdensia-Rugia fraternity was published, in which the "liquidation" of "German values" by the "occupiers" on the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War was claimed. At this time Gansel also took part in demonstrations by the NPD and the Free Comradeships several times . B. 1997 in Marburg at a demonstration of the militant neo-Nazi " Sauerland Action Front " against the so-called " Wehrmacht Exhibition ", which deals with crimes of the Wehrmacht in World War II. At an NPD demonstration on May 1, 2000 in Wetzlar -Dalheim, Gansel carried a flag of the " Black Front " (red hammer and sword crossed on a black background), a split from the NSDAP around Otto Strasser . The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution also sees his membership in the neo-Nazi aid organization for national political prisoners and their relatives (HNG) as an indication of Gansel's assessment as a neo-Nazi.

Political career

From 1989 to 1993 Gansel was a member of the Junge Union and the CDU , in 1994 he became a member of the Federation of Free Citizens (BFB), and from 1995 to 1997 he was a functionary of the Junge Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen (JLO).

In 1998 Gansel joined the NPD. In the following years he rose to the position of deputy chairman of the NPD Hessen and training manager of the Young National Democrats (JN) Hessen. From 2001 to 2004 he was full-time editor of the party newspaper German Voice and was elected in 2002 as a member of the NPD party executive. Gansel was also active in the National Democratic University Association (NHB). In the state elections in Saxony in 2004 , the NPD received 9.2% of the vote; Gansel moved into the Saxon state parliament via the NPD state list . In the 2009 election , the NPD received 5.6%; Gansel remained a member of the state parliament.

On November 11, 2008, as a member of the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament, he was the victim of an assault by Peter Naumann , as a result of which the latter was dismissed as "parliamentary advisor" to the NPD parliamentary group.

From April 2012 to 2014 he was one of 19 members of the Saxon NSU investigative committee "Neo-Nazi Terror Networks in Saxony".

After the NPD narrowly failed to pass the 5% hurdle in the 2014 state elections , Gansel blamed the "13,000 NPD voters", "who, according to the election analyzes of the pseudo-alternative AfD, were on the glue", as well as 10,000 former NPD voters, who "apparently for convenience or other trivial reasons" stayed away from the election, although they should have known that "every vote would count".

Debate in the Saxon state parliament

On January 21, 2005, Gansel and the NPD parliamentary group left the plenary session of the Saxon state parliament in order not to have to take part in a minute of silence for the victims of National Socialist terror. In the “Current Hour” Gansel later said: “The cause of the bombing Holocaust is neither related to September 1, 1939 nor January 30, 1933.” Plans “to destroy the German Reich” had existed long before. As evidence, he cited a British newspaper article from 1896. He accused Winston Churchill of “eliminatory anti-Germanism”, according to the political scientist Gideon Botsch, an intentional distortion of the diction of the American Shoah researcher Daniel Goldhagen .

In broad sections of the German media, Gansel's speech was interpreted as a deliberate relativization of the crimes of National Socialism by equating the murder of around six million Jews by the National Socialists with the victims of the Allied bombing attacks. In addition, he had decontextualized the Allied attacks on Germany, which, however, must be understood as a causal consequence of the war that Germany started.

From 2000 to 2001 Jürgen W. Gansel was also editor-in-chief of the right-wing extremist periodical German History . In the state protection report of the state of Hesse from 2004, Gansel's activities as old man of the Dresdensia-Rugia and NPD member of the state parliament are interpreted as part of the increasing “intellectualization efforts” of this party.

anti-Semitism

On October 6, 2009, Gansel incited his party's Internet post against Jews, calling them the cause of the current economic crisis. Gansel: "Alan Greenberg, board member of Bear Stearns , and Lloyd Blankfein, chairman of the board of Goldman Sachs , trusted in their special Jewish relationship to money and gave the American public the slogan 'everything kosher'".

In connection with the controversy over the implementation of circumcision in Germany, Gansel accused the German Jews and Muslims of a "need for genital mutilation" and called the passed law a "courtesy law" to "appease the Jewish and Islamic lobby".

Furthermore, since June 2015 he has been an author at the NPD-affiliated Bayern Depesche , where he published articles hostile to asylum.
