Jürgen Hofer

Jürgen Hofer (born December 9, 1941 in Wiesbaden ) is a German politician of the FDP / DVP .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Hofer studied law in Münster, Berlin, Hamburg and Bonn. From 1972 to 1973 he was a lawyer and then until 1975 at the Rems-Murr-Kreis and at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior . Hofer is married and has three children.

politics

In 1975 Hofer was elected mayor of Weinstadt . When it was raised to the status of a major district town , he became mayor in 1979 . After several re-elections, he held the office until 2000.

From 1996 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , in which he represented the second mandate of the constituency 16 Schorndorf . In addition, he was a member of the district assembly of the Rems-Murr district and parliamentary group chairman in the association assembly of the Stuttgart region .

Honors

In 2006 Hofer was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit. Weinstadt awarded him honorary citizenship in 2007 .
