Jürgen Julier

Jürgen Julier (born August 7, 1942 in Mainz , † May 20, 1994 in Berlin ) was a German art historian .

Life

The Palatine from Diedesfeld an der Weinstrasse studied art history, German and Romance languages in Heidelberg from 1961 to 1973 and was committed to the renovation of Heidelberg's old town . After receiving his doctorate, he worked from 1973 to 1976 on a scholarship from the German Study Center in Venice , where he researched Molino Stucky in particular . He later headed the Lower Monument Protection Authority in Bamberg . In 1984 he was appointed director of the administration of the State Palaces and Gardens of Berlin to succeed Martin Sperlich . He held this office until his early death. His grave was in the cemetery in Diedesfeld.
