Jürgen Kraus (born August 31, 1987 ) is a German slalom canoeist . He starts in a kayak for the Kanu Schwaben Augsburg club (the canoeing department of TSV Schwaben Augsburg ) and trains on the Augsburg ice canal .

Life

Kraus started canoeing in 1999. Among other things, he won the title of German champion in single kayak (3 x K1) with the team of his club several times . His greatest success so far was the 2nd place in the team competition at the U23 European Championship in 2006 in Nottingham ( Great Britain ) and in 2009 in Liptovský Mikuláš ( Slovakia ). In 2011 he was also able to take part in the World Cup race in L'Argentière-la-Bessée as a member of the U23 national team .

Kraus studied business informatics at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences from 2009 to 2013 . Before that he was a member of the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Sonthofen for two years . Between 2013 and 2015 Kraus devoted himself to studying business education and business informatics at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg.
