Jürgen Marten

Jürgen Marten (* 1943 ) is a German lawyer, university professor, television presenter and actor. In the 1960s he played in a number of GDR fairy tale films and as an actor at the Berliner Ensemble, and from 1974 to 1984 he hosted the game show " Guess You !"

Life

Marten was a member of the SED - the squad and, among others, in 1986 founding director of the Institute for Cultural Research at the Ministry of Culture of the GDR, worked as a cultural sociologist and was a professor at the Art Academy Berlin-Weissensee and a Chair in Law at the University of Economics in Berlin-Karlshorst , a well-known East SED cadre forge . He has been working as a lawyer since the fall of the Berlin Wall .

Until 2007, Marten was legal advisor and ethics officer for the anti-corruption organization Transparency International Germany . He also gave public relations workshops for the Democratic Socialism Party . He came into current media interest when he threatened a blogger with legal action in 2006 after she posted a TI-critical article on the Internet and thus triggered a wave of outrage on the Internet.
