Juern Cornelius

Jürn Cassens Cornelius (born July 12, 1957 in Hage , North District ) is a German musician, composer, actor and producer.

Life

Jürn Cassens Cornelius grew up in Jemgum , in the Rheiderland . He started playing the guitar at the age of nine. About eight years later he and his brother Jan founded "Poly-Skiffle-GmbH", a band with a tea box bass, banjo and washboard as drums. A short time later, the two siblings discovered the Low German language for their music and the duo "Jan & Jürn" was born.

In 1978 the duo got to know Karl Dall , at that time still with “Insterburg und Co”. He produced the first LP, "Jan & Jürn, Lieder auf Platt" with them. In the following five years three more LPs and various samplers and singles were created. "Jan & Jürn" were regularly present on regional radio and television programs.

In 1986, Jürn Cornelius became an actor, played for four years at the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord in Wilhelmshaven , also composed theater music and was a speaker in Low German radio plays on Radio Bremen . During this time he also met Samy Molcho and had the opportunity to study body language and pantomime in depth. In 1992 he left the theater and started his own recording studio. Cornelius produced music and radio plays, highlights such as the “Warsaw Symphony Orchestra” on Norderney and the radio play “Mukuh Muh und Bingel Bingel”, for which he received the Lower Saxony Radio Prize in 2002 for his music and overall design.

Jürn Cornelius has been back as a musician since 2006 and started his stage show "Still Jürn, Welthits auf Platt" on March 29, 2008.
