history

Locomotive 1934 as a memorial in Prijedor (August 2013).
Locomotive 1937 in Doboj (April 2015).

These six locomotives were delivered to Yugoslavia by Škoda in Plzeň immediately after the Second World War . They were used on the Steinbeisbahn , which was originally built as a forest railway by a private company.

After the railway was closed in 1975, two locomotives came to the Banovići coal railway , where they continued to be used. One of the locomotives (1934) was at the station Prijedor erected as a monument, another (1937) is also a monument since April 15, 1985 in downtown Doboj front of the building in which the since 1996 the seat Željeznice Republike Srpske is . The 1933 is kept in the Banja Luka depot and is also intended for museum preservation.

The 1932 locomotive that remained in Banovići was bought by the Austrian Railway Association Club 760 in 1989 for its locomotive collection. The locomotive later received a general inspection in the ÖBB main workshop in Knittelfeld, but the locomotive was not completed. The Club 760 finally rented the locomotive in 2008 to the Czech association Slezské Zemské Dráhy , based in Krnov . There the locomotive, now designated as U 57.001, was completed with the missing assemblies and adapted to the technical regulations in the Czech Republic. On May 22, 2009, the locomotive was put back into operation on the Třemešná ve Slezsku – Osoblaha narrow-gauge railway . Since then it has been used regularly in front of the nostalgic trains that run in the summer months.
