Jabberwalky is an Austrian pop and rock band from the Kitzbühel district in Tyrol .

history

The name of the band, founded in 1994, is based on the passionately singing dragon Jabberwocky from the cartoon series Alice in Wonderland .

With the exception of two changes on drums and guitar , the original cover band still has its original line-up and, despite the personnel changes, was able to develop its own style, which has also shaped the previous releases. In the meantime, the five-piece band also performs regularly in neighboring countries.

Between 1997 and 2011 the band released a total of five albums. The last album to date with the title "Jabberwalky" was released on January 5th, 2010.

In April 2013 the single (Music) Girl like you was released, which made it to number 24 in the Austria Top 40 .

Importance as opening act

Due to its high level of regional awareness, Jabberwalky is often booked as local support to support national and international artists, as well as for international sporting events (e.g. as part of the Alpine Ski World Cup on the Krone stage in the 2004/05 winter season in Flachau and Semmering ).

The band celebrated their greatest success as the opening act as the winner of a casting organized by the Tiroler Krone and the resulting appearance with Roxette on November 1, 2001 in the Innsbruck Olympic Hall .
