Jack Paar (born May 1, 1918 in Canton , Ohio , † January 27, 2004 in Greenwich , Connecticut ) was an American presenter . He is considered one of the most fascinating and mysterious talk show presenters on American television.

Life

Born in Canton, Ohio, Jack Paar moved to Jackson with his parents Howard and Lillian M. Paar a short time later .

He began his career as a radio host in Cleveland . Later he also worked in television. Couple acted among other things as a presenter on the CBS Morning Show .

In 1957 he followed Steve Allen to host the Tonight Show . Under the direction of the couple, the talk show became one of the most successful on NBC's late night programming .
