Jack Trout

John Francis "Jack" Trout (born January 31, 1935 in Manhattan , New York City , New York ; † June 4, 2017 in Greenwich , Connecticut ) was an American entrepreneur and owner of the strategic marketing office Trout & Partners .

Life

Jack Trout started his career in the advertising department of General Electric . He later worked with Al Ries. He worked with him for almost 30 years and wrote several books. Today Trout & Partners comprises a worldwide network with 30 partners.

Trout is considered the founder and pioneer of positioning theory .
