Jackson Hole (China)

The place Jackson in the valley Jackson Hole in Wyoming was the inspiration for the Chinese health resort. While it is claimed to be a clone of the American city, it is by no means an exact replica. However, the architectural style of a western town and some artifacts may have been carried over from the original town.

Jackson Hole ( Chinese  家乡 , Pinyin jiā xiāng ) is a health resort in the Chinese province of Hebei , less than two hours' drive north of Beijing . It is wedged between the Taihang Mountains and the Yan Mountains . The Chinese name 家乡 ， 美国 means "hometown USA". Rural health resorts are rare in China and are mostly perceived as agricultural. The place has spacious backyards that create what feels like an American environment, far from the hustle and bustle of Chinese city life.

The inspiration for the design of the place comes from the designer Allison Smith. It was her idea to recreate the architecture found in Jackson, Wyoming . KIRO-TV headlined "… [y] ou can find a Jackson Hole in China" - (there is another Jackson Hole in China) . According to the article, the purpose of the Chinese Jackson Hole was to map an area of ​​American realities. The design of the 1000 individual houses contains themes that are reminiscent of Billy the Kid , Geronimo , Stagecoach Station, Betsy and Big Bear . Smith had explored various resorts such as Martha's Vineyard , Vail (Colorado) and finally Jackson Hole and had chosen the latter as the blueprint of the resort. During their voyage of discovery, the Smiths collected "cowhide, antler chandeliers, saddlecloths, hut ottoman chairs, wagon wheels, Navajo carpets, iron lights, wildlife fireplace screens, wooden snowshoes, leather throw pillows, horseshoes, Charles Russell prints and plaid curtains" and sent them all to China. Liu Xiangyang, who is the community's developer, says his selling point is more than the architecture. Its buyers wanted freedom and spirituality. Then he built a Christian church in the middle of the settlement.

Real estate price development

According to Smith, the properties are "... sold out and have nearly tripled in value since construction." When the first model was presented in a park in Beijing, "people would have gotten on their knees."
