Jacob Jacobszn Hinlopen

Jacob Jacobszn Hinlopen (born March 19, 1644 in Amsterdam ; † March 14, 1705 ibid) was a Dutch patrician and politician at the city and state level. He was ambassador of Urk and Emmeloord .

biography

Jacob Hinlopen came from the Hinlopen family . His father was Jacob J. Hinlopen (1621–1679), art collector and Schepen from Amsterdam. Hinlopen was appointed Schepen in Rampjaar in 1672. In 1680 he became a councilor . Between 1685 and 1687 Hinlopen was a deputy in the States General ; from 1688 to 1690 councilor of this. In 1691 he became Schout of the city, he held the post until 1694. In the same year he was appointed mayor of Amsterdam. The following year he served as the city's treasurer . Hinlopen was one of the directors ( Bewindhebber ) of the Dutch East India Company until his death .
