Jacobs Island is an island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies off the southwest coast of Anvers Island between Hellerman Rocks and Laggard Island .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1975 after Lieutenant Commander Paul F. Jacobs of the United States Navy , who headed Palmer Station in 1972.
