Jacques Assanvo Ahiwa

Jacques Assanvo Ahiwa (born January 6, 1969 in Kuindjabo , Ivory Coast ) is an Ivorian Roman Catholic clergyman and appointed auxiliary bishop in Bouaké .

Life

Jacques Assanvo Ahiwa first attended the boys' seminary and then studied at the seminary of the Archdiocese of Abidjan in Anyama . On December 13, 1997 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Grand-Bassam .

After ordination, he was initially active in pastoral care and then from 1998 to 2002 General Secretary of the Diocese of Grand-Bassam and Diocesan Director of the Papal Mission Societies. From 2002 to 2004 he studied Biblical Theology at the Université Catholique de l'Afrique de l'Ouest and obtained a master's degree . After further studies at the University of Strasbourg , he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . From 2011 to 2018 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Grand-Bassam. Since 2018 he has been Maître de conférences at the University of Strasbourg.

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Elephantaris in Mauretania and auxiliary bishop in Bouaké on May 5, 2020 .
