Jacques Wirion (born April 28, 1944 in Luxembourg ) is an aphorist and essayist .

biography

Jacques Wirion was born in Luxembourg on April 28, 1944. From 1963 to 1964 he attended the Cours supérieurs in Luxembourg, in the fall of 1964 he began studying German and history in Tübingen and moved to Heidelberg in 1967 . In October of the same year he obtained his doctorate in philology in Luxembourg and has since taught German and history at various lycées in the country, most recently at the Athenaeum . From 2000 to 2006 he was chairman of the Luxembourg German teachers' association LGV (Lëtzebuerger Germanisteverband). He has been married to Josette Schmit since 1975 and has three children (François, Michèle and Marie).

Works

Jacques Wirion has worked for various Luxembourg newspapers and magazines (Lëtzebuerger Land, Escher Tageblatt, Galerie, Nos cahiers…) since 1974. Since then he has published aphorisms , but also essays and lectures on literary and philosophical topics.
