Jade Edmistone (born February 6, 1982 in Brisbane ) is an Australian swimmer who specializes in short chest stretches . She lives and trains in Brisbane.

Career

Edmistone first made an appearance at the Australian Short Course Championships in 2004 when she set a new short course world record over 50 m chest (29.90 s) in the final. It was on this route that she achieved her greatest international successes. At the 2004 Short Course World Championships in Indianapolis , she won the silver medal over this route. At the 2005 World Championships in Montreal Edmistone was world champion, at the Australian preliminaries for the Commonwealth Games in 2006 , she set a new world record. At the Commonwealth Games itself, she won the silver medal in the 50 m and 100 m chest. In 2006 in Shanghai she was short course world champion in the 50 m breaststroke and in the 4 × 100 m individual relay relay, and she also won the bronze medal in the 100 m breaststroke.
