Jennie Johansson (born June 15, 1988 in Hedemora ) is a Swedish swimmer who specializes in the short distances in the chest position . She is the current world champion over 50 meters chest.
successes
Johansson won her first medal at an international championship with bronze over 100 m breaststroke at the European Short Course Championships in 2009 in Istanbul. She hit in 1: 05.19 minutes behind Caroline Ruhnau (1: 04.84, CR) and Moniek Nijhuis (1: 04.96).
The following year, at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2010 , she won silver over 100 m breaststroke in 1: 07.36 min ex aequo with Danish Rikke Møller Pedersen behind Russian Julija Jefimowa (1: 06.32). Over the 50 m there was bronze in 31.24 s behind Jefimowa (30.29) and the British Kate Haywood (31.24). At the European Swimming Championships 2012 in Debrecen it was again the silver medal over 100 m in 1: 07.85 min, this time behind Sarah Poewe (1: 07.33).
The 2012 Summer Olympics in London saw Johansson in 10th place with the individual relay relay and over 100 m chest.
The 2013 European Short Course Championships in Herning again resulted in two bronze medals, over 50 and 100 m breaststroke, and a silver medal with the Swedish 4 × 50 meter relay behind the Danes, with Michelle Coleman , Johansson, Sarah Sjöström and Louise Hansson .
The 2014 European Championships in Berlin brought three silver medals, over 50 and 100 m breaststroke and with the 4 × 100 meter relay. Rūta Meilutytė won over 50 m in 29.89 s ahead of Johansson (30.52), third was Nijhuis (30.64). Møller Pedersen won the 100 m in 1: 06.23 minutes ahead of Johansson (1: 07.04) and Arianna Castiglioni (1: 07.36). The Swedish silver medley relay over the 4 × 100 meters started in the final with Ida Lindberg , Johansson, Sjöström and Coleman and was only defeated by the Italians.
The 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia, also brought silver in the same season in a European record time of 3: 55.24 minutes with Coleman, Johansson, Sjöström and Hansson behind the Chinese and ahead of the Australians. Over 50 m chest, Johansson's career highlight so far came: She hit after 30.05 seconds and was then allowed to wear the gold medal. The Jamaican Alia Atkinson (30.11) and Julija Jefimowa (30.13) were beaten .
