Jagdish Chand Ajmani

Jagdish Chand Ajmani (born April 4, 1930 in Shimla ) is an Indian diplomat .

Life

Jagdish Chand Ajmani was the son of Radha Ajmani and Dip Chand. He married Sharda Nayar in 1955 and they had a son and a daughter. He studied at St. Stephen's College in Delhi , at Jawaharlal Nehru University and at Brasenose College in Oxford . He entered the foreign service in 1952, and from 1955 to 1957 he was promoted from third-class legation secretary to second-class legation secretary in Cairo . From 1962 to 1963 he was first class delegation secretary in Baghdad . From 1967 to 1969 he was counselor in Tokyo . On April 30, 1971, he received an exequatur as Consul General and Charge d'Affaires in Berlin , to 23 June 1976 where he was ambassador from 8 December 1973.

From 1977 to 1980 he was High Commissioner in Canberra . From 1980 to 1984 he was ambassador to Rome and representative of the Indian government to the FAO . From 1984 to 1986 he was ambassador to Buenos Aires and accredited to the governments of Asunción and Montevideo . From 1987 to 1988 he was ambassador in Bonn .
