Jakob Rudolf Truog

Jakob Rudolf Truog (born July 15, 1865 , † December 27, 1953 ) was a Swiss Reformed clergyman and church historian .

Life

Jakob Rudolf Truog studied theology and was accepted into the Evangelical-Rhaetian Syndoe Synod on June 30, 1889 in Langwies . Since he was allowed to work as a pastor in the Free State of the Three Leagues , he took over the pastoral position in Tamins in the same year . In 1906 he moved to Luzein and Pany . In 1908 he was elected dean of the synod. In 1914 he was assigned the parish in Jenaz . He gave up the office of dean in 1924. With Peter Walser , Peter Paul Cadonau and Christian Michel, he was one of the most active opponents of the women's pastoral office. In particular, he fought against the election of in 1931Greti Caprez-Roffler as the pastor of the neighboring Furna . In 1936 he retired. He died on December 27, 1953 at the age of 88.

Truog had made a name for himself as a church historian by researching the history of several Graubünden communities and writing works on the history of the Synod from 1537 to the end of the 19th century.
