The Jakobuskirche in Leonbronn , a district of Zaberfeld in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , has been the parish church of the village since 1485 . Protestant since the Reformation, today it belongs to the Evangelical Church Community of Leonbronn-Ochsenburg in the Brackenheim parish of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg .

A chapel in Leonbronn was first mentioned in 1289 at the same time as the place. Leonbronn was initially a church branch of Kürnbach and was raised to a parish in 1485. The tower is the oldest part of the church. The Kapuzinertörle , a portal on its north wall, has Romanesque shapes. The choir with its tracery window dates from the Gothic period . In 1750 the tower was renovated, in 1773 the nave was extended. When the church was expanded, the organ was moved to its current location on the choir gallery. The last major renovations took place in 1940/41 and in the 1980s.

In addition to the historic organ, the historic furnishings of the church include a wooden crucifix from the 15th century and a pastor's board that lists the pastors of the church since 1560. The tomb of pastor Johann Eberhard Kies († 1691) is placed in the choir. Most of the furnishings (altar, pulpit, gallery) were renewed in the 1980s. The glass window on the south wall was designed by Erich Buschle in 1964 .

On the outside wall of the church there is a memorial stone for Wilhelm Zimmermann , who was pastor in Leonbronn from 1854 to 1864. In the churchyard there is an old stone table from 1522, which was once used as a court table in the district of Mörderhausen .
