Jameleddine Limam ( Arabic جمال الدين الإمام; * June 11, 1967 in Tunis ) is a former Tunisian football player .

Career

Limam first played at Stade Tunisien in his hometown Tunis before venturing to Europe in 1988. Neither at Standard Liège in Belgium nor at the German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig , however, he was able to establish himself as a regular player over the long term. In 1991 he moved to Al-Ittihad Jeddah in Saudi Arabia , before Limam returned to his homeland in 1993. Here he was active until 2003 with his hometown club Stade Tunisien and the Club Africain Tunis .

Between 1987 and 1998 Limam also played a total of 54 international matches for Tunisia , in which he scored four goals. With the Tunisian selection, he took part in the 1988 Olympic Games and the 1994 and 1996 African Football Championships . In 1996 he reached the final of the African Cup of Nations in South Africa with Tunisia , but where they lost 2-0 to the hosts in Johannesburg . Limam was used in the group game against Ghana .
