James Addy

James Addy ( James Aryee Addy; born December 9, 1939 in Accra ; † April 26, 2009 ibid.) Was a Ghanaian sprinter .

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he reached the semi-finals in the 4 x 400 meter relay .

In 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth he was eliminated over 440 yards in the semifinals and won bronze with the Ghanaian 4-by-440-yard relay.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he reached the semifinals over 400 m and failed in the 4 x 400 meter relay in the preliminary run.

Two years later, he won the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 with the Ghanaian 4-by-110-yard relay and was eliminated over 220 yards in the semifinals.

At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968, he reached the quarter-finals over 200 m and the semi- finals in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

In 1970 he won silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and failed over 100 m in the quarter-finals. At the end of his career, he retired from the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich again over 200 m in the quarter-finals and in the 4-by-400-meter relay in the semi-finals.
