James Anthony Tamayo
James Anthony Tamayo (born October 23, 1949 in Brownsville , Texas ) is Bishop of Laredo .
Life
James Anthony Tamayo was ordained a priest for the diocese of Corpus Christi on July 11, 1976 .
Pope John Paul II named him on January 26, 1993 auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and titular bishop of Ita . The Bishop of Galveston-Houston, Joseph Anthony Fiorenza , then donated him episcopal ordination on March 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Corpus Christi, René Henry Gracida , and the Bishop of Brownsville , Enrique San Pedro .
On July 3, 2000, he was appointed bishop of the newly founded diocese of Laredo, and on August 9 of the same year the enthronement took place.
