James Cornelius van Miltenburg
James Cornelius van Miltenburg OFM (born September 14, 1909 in Harmelen , Netherlands ; † March 14, 1966 ) was Bishop of Hyderabad in Pakistan .
Life
James Cornelius van Miltenburg joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 31 March 1935, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On May 20, 1948, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the first bishop of Karachi . The Bishop of Multan , Francesco Benedetto Cialeo OP , gave him episcopal ordination on October 3rd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Bombay , Valerian Gracias , and the bishop of Rawalpindi , Nicholas Hettinga MHM .
On July 15, 1950, Pius XII appointed him. to the first Archbishop of Karachi. Pope Pius XII appointed him on May 7, 1958 as the first bishop of Hyderabad in Pakistan and bestowed on him the personal title of archbishop.
James Cornelius van Miltenburg attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
