Francesco Benedetto Cialeo

Francesco Benedetto Cialeo OP (born July 3, 1901 in Calitri , Avellino Province , Italy ; † January 4, 1985 ) was an Italian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Lyallpur .

Life

Francesco Benedetto Cialeo joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 19 April 1924, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 15, 1937, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the first Apostolic Prefect of Multan . Pope Pius XII appointed him bishop of Multan on June 20, 1939. Pius XII. donated him episcopal ordination on October 29 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith , Archbishop Celso Costantini , and the retired Vicar Apostolic of Uganda , Henri Streicher MAfr .

On April 13, 1960 Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Lyallpur. Pope Paul VI accepted on September 8, 1976 the resignation put forward by Francesco Benedetto Cialeo for reasons of age.

Francesco Benedetto Cialeo attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
