James Craigen (born March 28, 1991 in Preston ) is an English football player who is under contract with Dunfermline Athletic .

Career

James Craigen began his career at the age of eight in his native Preston . For Preston North End he played in the respective youth teams until 2009, most recently in the U-18. In July 2009 Craigen went to Scotland. He studied at the University of Edinburgh and also played on the soccer team. For the team, he completed three seasons league games in the sixth class East of Scotland Football League . In the Scottish Cup he was eliminated with the team in the first round. Craigen signed a contract with Scottish second division team Partick Thistle at the beginning of the 2012/13 season after he had previously finished his studies at the university. He made his professional debut on August 4, 2012 in the first round of the League Cup against Forfar Athletic . In the 2-0 away win, he came on in the 66th minute for Chris Erskine . A week later Craigen made his debut in the 2nd division against FC Falkirk . From October 2012 to January 2013 he was awarded to the Scottish fourth division club Forfar Athletic. In ten games he scored two goals. After returning to Partick Thistle, he established himself in the starting line-up and helped the club move up to the Scottish Premiership . In the following two seasons he was used regularly for Thistle in the first division. The club kept it sovereign in the league. At the end of the 2014/15 season , the expiring contract was not extended. He then signed with the second division Raith Rovers . With the Rovers he lost in the promotion relegation against Hibernian Edinburgh . Just one season later, Craigen moved to FC Falkirk, with whom he also failed in the playoffs. In January 2018 Craigen moved to Dunfermline Athletic .
