James Cunningham (Bishop)
James Cunningham (born August 15, 1910 in Manchester , † July 10, 1974 ) was a British Roman Catholic bishop .
Life
Cunningham was on May 22, 1937 priests ordained. On August 19, 1957, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Hexham and Newcastle , and titular bishop of Ios . The Archbishop of Liverpool , John Carmel Heenan , donated him episcopal ordination in November of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Salford , George Andrew Beck , and the Bishop of Middlesbrough , George Brunner . On July 1, 1958, Cunningham became Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle. He held this office until his death. He was buried in the Ushaw College cemetery.
