James-Earl "Jamie" Duncan (born June 15, 1977 in Burlington , Ontario , Canada ) is a former Canadian basketball player and current coach.
career
Duncan played in the Canadian college league for the college team of Brock University .
His professional career began in Germany in 2002 with the Artland Dragons in Quakenbrück . After he was promoted from the second to the first Bundesliga after an outstanding season for the Dragons (zero defeats in the 2002/2003 season) together with the team, he played another Bundesliga season for the Dragons. Then he switched to Düsseldorf Magics in the second Bundesliga. After a season at Düsseldorf Magics, he returned to Artland Dragons in 2005 and worked there both as a player and as an assistant coach.
In 2006 Duncan switched completely to the coaching field, worked as an assistant coach in Quakenbrück and took on the role of video analyst. After further coaching positions in Belgium (Euphony Bree as assistant coach) and as head coach at TSV Breitengüßbach ( ProB , third highest basketball league in Germany), he finally moved to Bamberg and worked there again with his former trainer and colleague Chris Fleming (who was with the Artlands Dragons as a player and coach for many years) together. In Bamberg he was mainly responsible for individual training for individual players. In January 2014 he moved to Japan and took over the coaching position at Rizing Fukuoka .
In the 2015/16 season he worked as an assistant coach at Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor in Taiwan, followed by two years as an assistant coach under Don Beck for the women's team Toyota Antelopes in Japan. For the 2018/19 season Beck took him to the Japanese men's first division club Toyama Grouses.
