James Joseph O'Brien

James Joseph O'Brien (born August 5, 1930 in Wood Green , London Borough of Haringey , † April 11, 2007 ) was a British clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Westminster .

O'Brien was ordained a priest in Westminster on June 12, 1954 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 28, 1977 auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Westminster and titular bishop of Manaccenser . The Archbishop of Westminster, Basil Cardinal Hume OSB , ordained him episcopally on September 21 of the same year . Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Westminster Basil Christopher Butler OSB, Victor Guazzelli , Gerald Mahon MHM , Philip James Benedict Harvey and David Every Konstant .

On June 30, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
