The London Borough of Haringey [ ˈhæɹɪŋgeɪ ] is a borough of London . It is in the north of the city. When the Greater London Administrative Region was established in 1965, it emerged from the Municipal Borough of Hornsey , the Municipal Borough of Wood Green and the Municipal Borough of Tottenham in Middlesex .

The population in 2008 was composed of 65.8% white, 7.9% Asian, 17.8% black and 1.6% Chinese.

The most famous sight is the Alexandra Palace . In addition, the Highgate Cemetery with graves of outstanding personalities such as Karl Marx and Michael Faraday is located in the district . Tottenham Hotspur football club plays at White Hart Lane Stadium on High Road . Sister cities are Koblenz (Germany), Arima (Trinidad and Tobago), Clarendon (Jamaica), Larnaka (Cyprus), Livry-Gargan (France) and Sundbyberg (Sweden).

The Wireless Festival takes place here every year.
