James L. Berkey
James L. Berkey (born April 10, 1930 - July 3, 1982 ) was a production designer and art director .
Life
Berkey began his career on the film staff in 1958 in television, where he initially worked on the CBS Red Skelton Show . After further television engagements such as the television series Solo for ONCEL , he worked in film from 1967. Berkey first worked on the crime drama The Last Bite the Dogs with Michael Cimino in 1974 . 1982 he was responsible for Cimino late Western Heaven's Gate with Tambi Larsen for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design nominated, but the award went this year to Raiders of the Lost Ark .
Smith died in 1982 at the age of 52.
