James Mather (sound designer)

James Mather (* before 1980 in Bristol ) is a British sound designer .

Life

James Mather was born in Bristol. In the 1980s, Mather began working as an assistant editor, including in Australia in the sound department of George Miller in the production of the apocalyptic action adventure film Mad Max - Beyond the Thunder Dome . He then worked as a sound designer for British television and partnered with Aardman Animations . As a freelancer, he was subsequently involved in film projects that required original soundscapes.

His work includes several of the Narnia and Harry Potter films and most recently Transformers: The Last Knight and Kenneth Branagh remake of the Agatha Christie classic Murder on the Orient Express .

Mather also works as a lecturer and has taught a master class at the International Film Television & Music Academy (IFFMA) in Munich.
