James Rotich (born December 22, 1978 ) is a retired Kenyan marathon runner .

Athletic career

In 2004 he won the Cologne Marathon with a new course record in 2:10:22 hours . He won the prize of 10,000 euros and a Ford Galaxy worth 30,000 euros.

In 2005 he finished third in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon .
In 2006 James Rotich was third in the Hamburg Marathon (2:09:25 h) and in November seventh in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon .
The following year he was fourth in Hamburg in 2007 and third in the Amsterdam Marathon .

In 2008 a third place in the Paris Marathon (2:07:24 h) was followed by a sixth in Amsterdam. In 2009 he finished seventh in the Eindhoven Marathon .

In April 2012 he finished tenth in the Zurich Marathon in a time of 2: 17: 16.1 hours.

In 2013 James Rotich finished second in the Belfast Marathon in 2:19:57 h behind Joel Kipsang (2:19:28 h) .
