Jan-Philipp Berner

Jan-Philipp Berner (born February 6, 1988 in Göttingen ) is a German chef .

Career

After completing his training, Berner switched to the Jörg Müller restaurant (one Michelin star ) in Westerland (Sylt) in 2007 . At the beginning of 2009 he completed the first part of his apprenticeship as a master chef in Göttingen . Then he went to the gourmet restaurant Tschifflik to Jörg Glaubens (one Michelin star) and from mid-2009 to the Söl'ring Hof to Johannes King (two Michelin stars). At the beginning of 2011, he completed the master chef completely with a degree of 99%, which no one had achieved before. From mid-2011 to mid-2013 he cooked in the gourmet restaurant Lerbach Nils Henkel (two Michelin stars).

Since September 2013 he has been head chef alongside Johannes King at Söl'ring Hof , who has also been awarded two Michelin stars.

In November 2018 he was named Chef of the Year 2019 by the Gault & Millau restaurant guide together with Johannes King .
