Jan Buchtele (born July 21, 1990 in Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Sparta Prague from the Extraliga since January 2018 .

Career

Jan Buchtele began his career as an ice hockey player in the junior division of HC Pardubice , for whose junior teams he was active in the U18 and U20 extra leagues from 2006 to 2009. During the 2008-09 season , the attacker made his professional ice hockey debut when he was on the ice in a game for Pardubice in the Extraliga . He also ran twice for HC Vrchlabí from the second-class first division . In the 2009/10 season the left shooter was Czech champion with Pardubice . He contributed to this success with two goals and an assist in a total of 25 missions. In addition, he collected match practice again in the first division, in which he scored five goals in six games for HC Chrudim .

In 2012 he won another championship with Pardubice before being signed to HC Sparta Prague on May 1, 2013 . There he performed so well that he regularly received appearances in the national team on the Euro Hockey Tour .

In 2016 he became Czech runner-up with Sparta Prague and then moved to the Continental Hockey League for the first time at Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in summer 2016 . There he was used in 39 KHL games and also played the Spengler Cup in 2016 for the club. In February 2017, Buchtele returned to Sparta Prague after Awtomobilist missed the play-offs and gave up players to save staff costs.

From May 2017, Buchtele was under contract with HC Slovan Bratislava , also in the KHL, before he returned to Sparta Prague in January 2018.
