Works

Vodňanský's writing about the Ottoman rulers

Campanus wrote mostly in Latin or German, but also in Czech and Greek. The performance of some of his works, such as the play " Břetislav and Jitka " (Bretislaus and Judith), were banned by the censors because they dealt with issues of family and national politics and damaged the reputation of the Bohemian dukes . His poems were characterized by formal perfection. As a composer, Campanus Vodňanský set sacred songs and texts to celebrate the service.
