society

Pascal Grünwald started playing soccer at SVG Reichenau and came to WSG Wattens through the youth departments of FC Wacker Innsbruck and Innsbrucker AC . From 2005 he was the third goalkeeper of SV Austria Salzburg , where he made a total of nine appearances in the Bundesliga . After the club was reconstituted as FC Red Bull Salzburg , it was transferred to Pasching a year later in 2006 , where it was not used either.

In 2007 Pascal Grünwald came to FC Wacker Innsbruck as the second goalie behind Željko Pavlović . After the relegation of Innsbruck, Pascal Grünwald became a regular goalie in the first division in 2008 .

With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Grünwald was in the 2009/10 season two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling champion of the second-class Austrian first division and thus rose with the team in the Bundesliga.

On June 7, 2011 it was announced that Pascal Grünwald had signed a 3-year contract with FK Austria Wien . The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.

In the middle of the autumn season he lost his regular place in goal after the 2-2 draw against Kapfenberg. In early December 2011, he contracted a hernia and had to take a month off. After his recovery, he suffered a shoulder dislocation in the training camp in mid-January 2012 and had to take a five-month break. On April 2, 2014, he announced his return to FC Wacker Innsbruck after the regular goalkeeper Sáfár left the club at the end of the season.

For the 2017/18 season he returned to the league competitor WSG Wattens. With WSG Wattens, he rose to the Bundesliga as a second division champion in 2019, after which the club was renamed WSG Tirol. For the WSG he came to a total of three second division appearances. He ended his career after the 2019/20 season.

National team

On August 5, 2011, he was appointed to the Austrian national football team under national coach Didi Constantini , for which he played for the first time in the European Championship qualifier against Turkey on September 6, 2011 , without conceding a goal. He also played the last two qualifiers against Azerbaijan (4-1) and against Kazakhstan (0-0).
