The Jan Campert Prize (Dutch: Jan Campert-prijs ) is a Dutch literary prize that has been awarded annually by the Jan Campert Foundation (Jan Campert Stichting) for poetic works since 1948 . The award is named after the poet Jan Campert , who died in Neuengamme concentration camp in 1943 . Initially, the prize was intended exclusively for poets or essayists under the age of thirty. The condition for the first winner was that he must have distinguished himself in his resistance to resistance . In the first few years, unpublished works could also be submitted. Very soon the prize was only intended for poetry that had been published the previous year. The prize money is 6,000 euros (as of 2018).
