Jan Henrik Behrends (born September 8, 1979 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a former German handball player . He usually played in the right backcourt .

Career

societies

Behrends began his professional career in 1997 at SG PS / WHV Wilhelmshaven . In 1999 he moved to SG VTB / Altjührden , with whom he played in the 2nd Bundesliga North , and from there two years later to SG Wallau / Massenheim in the 1st Handball Bundesliga . From 2005 Jan Henrik Behrends played again in Wilhelmshaven and in 2007 moved to ZMC Amicitia Zurich ; with this club he became Swiss champions as well as cup and supercup winners in the 2008/2009 season and played in the EHF Champions League . From December 2009 he will play in the 1st / 2nd Bundesliga at HSG Düsseldorf . After the bankruptcy of HSG Düsseldorf, he moved to OHV Aurich (3rd League West) in 2012. After the 2013/14 season, he ended his professional career.

He plays in the second team of the HG Jever / Schortens club.

National team

On November 25, 2003 he made his debut in the line-up of the German national handball team in the game against Austria's national team in Linz . He played a total of 16 games for the selection of the German Handball Federation and scored 25 goals.

Private

The 1.98 meter tall real estate agent is married and has two sons.
