Jan Schneider (athlete)

Jan Schneider (born January 24, 1976 in Siegen ) is a former German athlete who specialized in the 400-meter hurdles .

Schneider started his career at CVJM Siegen and moved to LG Kindelsberg Kreuztal in 2000 , and in 2006 he started for VfL Sindelfingen . From 1997 to 2006 Schneider reached the final of the German championships every year except 2005. In 2001 he won his only German championship title in Stuttgart in a personal best of 49.63 seconds. In 2000 behind Thomas Goller and in 2004 behind Christian Duma Jan Schneider took second place, in 1999 , 2003 and 2006 he was third.

Internationally, Jan Schneider competed in international matches in 1998 and 2006 in the German national jersey. He also started at the Universiade in 1999 and 2001 , but dropped out in the interim. With the 4 x 400 meter relay , he took fourth place at the Universiade in 1999.
