Jan Tauer (born August 26, 1983 in Düsseldorf ) is a German football player who is used as a full -back.

Career

Career start in Germany

Tauer started playing soccer at FC Tannenhof . At the age of 13, Tauer moved from TSV Eller 04 to Fortuna Düsseldorf in 1997 . There he went through the club's youth teams and was appointed to the German U-17 and U-19 selections. In the 2001/02 season he moved up to the squad of the first team and came to his first six appearances in the adult area. At the end of the season he rose with the club in the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein , but remained loyal to the club. In 2003 Tauer moved to the third division club KFC Uerdingen 05 after missing the rise of Fortuna , where he was a regular player in the following season with 32 appearances. With the team, he finished seventh in the regional league north .

Tauer moved on to league rivals Eintracht Braunschweig after a season at the Krefeld club . With the Lower Saxony club, he achieved the season win as a substitute player, who came in his 13 season appearances mainly as a substitute, before the tied SC Paderborn 07 and thus rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . Here he was able to assert himself as a regular and played 47 second division games by the end of February 2007, in which he remained without scoring.

Change abroad

In March 2007 Tauer moved to Djurgårdens IF in Sweden . After a short probationary period at the Stockholm club, which was competing in the Allsvenskan , the highest Swedish league, he signed a contract valid until the end of 2009 and was given the number "8" on his back. At his new club, he immediately established himself in the regular formation and was used in 23 of the 26 season games over the course of the 2007 season. He helped the club to reach third place in the final table and thus to reach the qualifying rounds for the UEFA Cup 2008/09 . As a regular player, he was used in all four of the club's games against Flora Tallinn and Rosenborg BK , before the team failed despite a 2-1 home win after a 0-5 defeat at the Norwegian representative.

Not least thanks to his appearances in European competition, Tauer attracted attention outside of Sweden. After a coaching discussion was sparked at the Stockholm club and English and German clubs, including in particular SC Freiburg , where he completed a trial training session in November 2008, expressed interest in a commitment, speculation was about to leave Sweden. Ultimately, he decided to stay with Djurgårdens IF despite the replacement of Sigurður Jónssons as coach.

Return to Germany

After the end of the 2009 season , Tauer signed a contract with third division VfL Osnabrück , valid from January 1, 2010 , with which he was promoted to the second division on May 8, 2010 as champions of the third division . In the second division season 2010/11 , however, the immediate relegation followed.

Another move abroad

In August 2012 Tauer moved to Greece for the second division club Iraklis Psachna . In the first half of the 2012/13 season he played twelve games and scored two goals. At the end of February 2013, Tauer moved to the Swedish second division club IK Brage .
