Jenssen, who starts for the Hommelvik IL , competed in junior races until 2016. At the Junior World Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he won the gold medal with the relay. In addition, he won there 13th place over 15 km freestyle. In December 2016 he completed his first races in the Scandinavian Cup in Lillehammer , finishing 58th in the 10 km freestyle and 21st in the 30 km mass start race. There he started in the World Cup for the first time at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, finishing in 52nd place in the skiathlon . In the further course of the season he came in the Scandinavian Cup twice in third and once in second place and thus reached ninth place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , he won the silver medal in the sprint. He also achieved 29th place in the skiathlon there. In January 2019 he finished second in the 30 km mass start race at the Scandinavian Cup in Vuokatti and eighth over 15 km freestyle at the U23 World Championships in Lahti . After first place over 15 km freestyle at the FIS race in Gålå at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he won his first Scandinavian Cup victory in Vuokatti over 15 km freestyle. He then took part in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 , which he finished in 18th place. He scored his first World Cup points in Lenzerheide with eighth place in the 15 km mass start race.
