Jana Lepik (born November 28, 1981 in Tartu ) is an Estonian poet .

life and work

Jana Lepik went to high school for three years at an art school and studied four years at the Pedagogical University in Tallinn literature, but without making a conclusion.

Lepik made his debut in 2000 within the anthology Mõned ei tahtnudki ('Some didn't want either', 2000), in which texts by Wimberg , Jürgen Rooste and Ivar Sild appeared, for example . However, she gained greater fame because her first collection of poems appeared in mp3 format and could be downloaded for a while from the website of the publishing house “Bahama Press”. Her debut in book form took place in 2004 with Open Heaven in the Tallinn publishing house "Tuum". On the one hand, the critics celebrated her as a "future star", but on the other hand urged caution: "If Lepik could understand that good poetry is more thinking or wandering and less the aesthetics of beautiful words, heaven would be open to her."

After that, Lepik published further volumes of poetry at regular intervals.
