Jana Marsik

Jana Marsik (* 1974 in Kiel ) is a Czech - German camerawoman .

Life

Jana Marsik is of Czech descent. She completed internships in Prague and Boston, after which she studied from 1997 to 2002 at the Konrad Wolf Academy of Film and Television . She then made several short films and documentaries. With the two films The Last one turns off the light! and Hands Off Mississippi , she made her debut as a camerawoman for a feature film. For her work on the children 's film Lippels Traum and Same same but Different by Detlev Buck , directed by Lars Büchel , Marsik was awarded a Bavarian Film Prize in the category Best Image Creation in 2010 and was nominated for Best Camera at the German Film Prize.

In 2008 she was elected city filmmaker of Potsdam .
