Lars Büchel
Lars Büchel (born July 7, 1966 in Eutin , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German author , film producer and director . Since January 2010 he has also been professor of feature film directing at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne .
Live and act
After studying theater and philosophy in Berlin , Lars Büchel was a student of Dominik Graf , Horst Königstein and Alfred Biolek at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts . His first feature-length film 4 stories about 5 dead (1998) was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize . The film now or never , co-produced by Til Schweiger, was Büchel's greatest public success to date, with over 1.2 million viewers. The three female leads Gudrun okra , Christel Peters and Elisabeth Scherer got for their roles the Ernst Lubitsch Prize of the Association of Berlin film journalists for the best German film comedy of the year 2000. In the same year the film was Lüdia , the Film Award of the City Lünen excellent.
Lars Büchel's next film, peas at half past five , was awarded the 2004 German Film Prize for film music and the audio film prize in the same year . At the beginning of 2005, Lars Büchel founded the production company element e filmproduktion together with film producer Bernd T. Hoefflin . The episode film Nothing more than was shown in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the 56th Berlin International Film Festival . The film Paula's Secret won the main LUCAS prize at the Lucas Children's Film Festival in Frankfurt on September 30, 2006 . The feature film Up to the Elbow , produced by Lars Büchel , opened in German cinemas on November 1, 2007. In the spring of 2008, Büchel shot the film Lippel's Dream in Morocco and Passau . The film celebrated its premiere as the opening film at the Berlinale 2009 and opened in German cinemas on October 8, 2009.
