Jane Pow was a British indie pop band that was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

history

The band was formed in Southampton in 1986 . In 1989 the Southampton independent label Ambition Records released the first single and a split single with Girl Of My Best Friend and in 1990 the first maxi single there. Also in 1990, the band released their debut album State on the Brighton record label Target Records and there two years later their second album Love It Be It . The songs from the two albums were re-released as a combined CD album in 1993 by the US record label Slumberland Records , which produced the Jane Pow single Warm Room in 1991 . Another single was released in 1992 on the Brighton independent label Marineville Records . In addition to performing in the United Kingdom, the band also performed in the United States and Germany.

An official resolution is not known, but there have been no new releases since 1992. After that, only a few sampler contributions appeared until the mid-1990s . There is also a website and a page on Facebook , both of which are obviously run by former front man Richard Starke and are addressed to the fan community. Starke immigrated to the United States in the mid-1990s, got married there, and lives in Seattle . He brought out an EP in 1998 under the pseudonym "Firing Bullets" . His brother Andrew "Andy" Starke switched to the film business. Rupert Hanna went to Norway . It is known that drummer Graham "Greg" McGeoch played with Fiel Garvie from 1996 and published two singles with his Anglo-Japanese formation Hyper Kinako in the 2000s . Guitarist Vincent "Vince" Kellett played from 1996 to 2000 with the Southampton garage rock band The Hoodwinks .
