Janet Foxley

Janet Foxley (* 1944/1945 in Leicester ) is a British children's author .

Life

Foxley was born in Leicester towards the end of World War II . She first saw her father, who was stationed in India, when she was nearly two years old. Her youth was marked by repeated moves that her family brought to various cities in Northern England. After finishing school, she studied at Newcastle University . After graduating, she lived briefly in Germany . Back in England she got married. The marriage had two children. Originally employed in a university administration, she began to publish children's books after her retirement.

For Munkel Trogg , the first volume on the adventures of the "smallest giant in the world", she won the Times children's literature competition and the work was nominated for various other children's book prizes. For Victoria Street No. 17 - The secret of the turtle received the Ulm toad in 2016 .

Foxley now lives with her husband in Carlisle in the county of Cumbria .
