Janet Perry

Janet Perry (born December 27, 1947 in Minneapolis ) is an American opera singer.

Career

Janet Perry had her first stage appearance in 1959 at the age of eleven in The Wizard of Oz , later she studied singing at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia . Her operatic debut took place in 1969 at the Landestheater Linz as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni . This was followed by appearances in European opera houses under the conductors Herbert von Karajan , Carlos Kleiber , Karl Böhm , Riccardo Muti , Daniel Barenboim , Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Mstislaw Rostropowitsch , Rafael Kubelík , James Levine and Wolfgang Sawallisch .

In 1973/74 she worked on the television adaptation of the operettas Schwarzwaldmädel and Zigeunerliebe .
