Janina Huhn (born October 25, 1989 in Bad Dürkheim ), after marrying Janina Huber , from the Palatinate wine-growing region , was elected the 66th German Wine Queen on September 26, 2014 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse as the successor to Nadine Poss ( Nahe wine-growing region ) . She was the tenth German wine queen to come from the Palatinate. As wine princesses , Judith Dorst ( Rheinhessen ) and Kathrin Schnitzius ( Mosel ) stood by her side during the twelve-month term of office .

Life

Huhn grew up in a winegrowing family in the Palatinate , her father works as a viticulture technician at the Deidesheim winegrowers' association . In 2009 she passed the Abitur at the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium Bad Dürkheim with a grade of 1.1. Then she studied history, Latin and philosophy in Freiburg and Heidelberg . She wrote her bachelor thesis on the symposium of Plato .

In 2012, Huhn was the wine princess of her hometown Bad Dürkheim and in 2013 the Palatinate wine queen . During this time she did an internship at the VDP winery Pfeffingen in Bad Dürkheim.

After the end of her tenure as German Wine Queen in September 2015, she worked in the event area in the BASF wine cellar . In addition, she completed several seminars at the International Wine School in London and began training at the Austrian Wine Academy. 2018 she obtained the conclusion Diploma in Wines and Spirits ( Weinakademiker ); She was awarded the Top Student Award of the graduate class.

Since spring 2018, Huber has been self-employed as a moderator of seminars and events in the wine sector. In SWR -Television she hosts the program since 2018 WineSafari , which has since been aired regularly.
